Information For San Clemente Athletes

Athletic Clearance: All athletes must have their physical exam clearance completed prior to start of summer cross country training. Clearance paperwork can be obtained in the main office, in the athletic director’s office or by visiting the athletic department web site at www.sctritonathletics.com. Once completed, the paperwork should be turned in to the athletic director.

Practice: Starting on Wednesday, September 8th., and for the remainder of the season, practice will start during 6th. period and continue after school until a coach dismisses you. Athletes should plan on about two hours for practice.

More Information

1. Track & Field Only - All new athletes, and athletes who have not previously made at least one of the qualifying standards must try out. Returning team members will still be expected to make the qualifying standards in your events or you will not be allowed to remain on the team.

2. Track & Field Only - Once the athlete has made the team in one event, he/she may try out for other events, but you must make the qualifying mark for each event that you wish to compete in.

3. Track & Field Only  - Athletes who are currently involved in a winter sport will be given a try-out period after the winter sport has ended.

4. Track / Cross Country -
After you have made the team, you should see your guidance counselor and arrange to have your schedule changed so that you are in the 6th. period track (or cross country) class. Boys - Coach Johnson’s class. Girl’s - Coach Proodian’s class.
